Private guided multi pitch climbing day
You’ve climbed a bit on single pitch routes but you’re seeing all these photos of climbers dangling hundreds of meters off the ground and rappelling off cliffs? Do you want to experience a multi pitch climbing to see how much you love it before getting into learning all the knots and rope techniques? With Tim Dunham, a certified climbing instructor, leading the climb, you will be able to top rope a multi-pitch route and discover the feeling of spending the entire day on a wall.
Unlike lead climbing, which involves a single climber ascending one route, multi-pitch climbing involves several climbers traversing multiple routes on the way to their destination. It offers climbers the ability to cover longer distances and traverse more routes.
In this private guided multi-pitch experience, Tim will be the lead and two climbers will follow him on top ropes.
What’s the plan?
Meet Tim at a given train station in the morning (location to be defined a few days before the event). After making your way to the crag, you’ll go together through all the equipment and do some quick theory in order to start the climb safely. You will then be on the wall all day, climbing multiple pitches and covering a long distance vertically. After reaching the top and enjoying the views for a moment, you will rappel down and make your way back to the train station.
Requirements
To join this event, you need to be able to climb 5A routes top rope. No previous lead climbing or multi-pitch experience needed.
All pitches will be graded between 3 and 5A.
Insurance
It is the participant’s responsibility to get health and accident insurances that cover mountain rescue, including extreme sports. Becoming a Rega patron is highly recommended (CHF 40 per year only for emergency medical assistance from the air).
