Lead Climbing Refresher’s Course

You’ve led climbed before but would love a refresher course before the season kicks off? Maybe you’ve done lead climbing indoors and would love to apply your skills to the outdoors, maybe you need a reminder about how to set and clear your anchor, or maybe you just feel more comfortable going with a professional climbing instructor before going with your friends?

This trip is led by Tim Dunham, climbing instructor.

What’s the plan?

Tim will meet the group at Interlaken Ost train station at 10:00 and will give you a lift to the crag picked for the day (if needed), where we will refresh the fundamentals of lead climbing and belaying, anchor setting and clearing… and practice all day.

Requirements

To join this event, you need to be able to lead climb 5A routes, whether indoors or outdoors.

Insurance

It is the participant’s responsibility to get health and accident insurances that cover mountain rescue, including extreme sports. Becoming a Rega patron is highly recommended (CHF 40 per year only for emergency medical assistance from the air).

How to get there

If you are traveling by public transport from Zurich, we recommend you take the following:

• Interlaken Ost 18:00 – 19:58 Zurich HB – depending on what time the event finishes

Maybe you find someone else from the group to stay in the area and go climbing again on Sunday, to make sure you practice everything you’ve just learned. That’s up to you!
