Introduction to outdoor lead climbing weekend
Step outside and sign up for this outdoor lead climbing weekend.You will learn new skills, discover beautiful climbing spots, and find the joy in outdoor climbing.
Learn how to sport climb on real rock and the skills needed to keep you safe. Instruction includes: lead climbing & belaying, rope management, clipping an express, setting & clearing anchors, equipment, and communication. This course will create a great foundation for your confidence as a climber & future climbing trips.
This trip is led by Tim Dunham, climbing instructor.
What’s the plan?
Tim will meet the group in front of the Interlaken Ost at 09:30. After reaching the crag, we will refresh the your current climbing skills and learn the fundamentals of lead climbing.
At the end of the day, we will settle into a lovely hostel in the Lauterbrunnen area. We will enjoy a nice dinner and stay overnight at the hostel.
On Sunday after breakfast, we will return to a crag and practice the skills we learned on Saturday and sport climb! After a second full day of climbing, you will be able to rest on the train on your way home!
Requirements
To join this event, you should have done top rope climbing or indoor lead climbing before.
Insurance
It is the participant’s responsibility to get health and accident insurances that cover mountain rescue, including extreme sports. Becoming a Rega patron is highly recommended (CHF 40 per year only for emergency medical assistance from the air).
