25 & 26 June 2022: https://touringmonkeys.com/events/introduction-to-outdoor-rock-climbing-weekend-2-25-june-22
What’s the plan?
Meet Tim in front of the Schwyz train station at 09:00 on Saturday. Shuttle to Ibergeregg, Passhöhe. The first half of the day will be dedicated to understanding the equipment, fundamentals of outdoor climbing, and safety rules. During the second half of the day, you will be able to put theory into practice and rock climb.
At the end of the day, we will settle into a lovely hotel located at the pass where we will enjoy the evening with a nice dinner and spend the night.
After breakfast on Sunday, we will return to the crag and practice the skills we learned on Saturday. After a second full day of climbing, we will walk back to Ibergeregg and Tim will give you a lift back to Schwyz train station for you to return home.
Requirements
Some previous climbing experience is recommended (indoor climbing or bouldering). However, if you are fit and keen to try outdoor climbing but have never climbed before, we are happy for you to join us.
Insurance
It is the participant’s responsibility to get health and accident insurances that cover mountain rescue, including extreme sports. Becoming a Rega patron is highly recommended (CHF 40 per year only for emergency medical assistance from the air).
How to get there
If you are traveling from Zurich by public transport, we recommend you to take the following:
Saturday: Zurich HB 08:05 – 09:01 Schwyz
Sunday: Schwyz 16:59 – 17:55 Zurich HB – depending on the time the event finishes
