Guided Snowshoeing, Pulka & Bivouac Weekend in the Jura
Home Tours - Touring Monkeys Hiking Snowshoeing Guided Snowshoeing, Pulka & Bivouac Weekend in the Jura
Join us for an adventure in the Jura mountain. This is the perfect place to experience your first winter bivouac. Never really steep, wild and uncrowded, with large expenses of meadows and forest, this place is really adapted for snowshoes trips and offers plenty of Bivouac spots.
This trip is led by Ulrick Tainturier, mountain leader.
What’s the plan?
Day 1
You meet Ulrick at Yverdon train station at 11:00 and get a shuttle ride to the start of the trip. After filling the pulka with the gear and equipment needed, you start with a snowshoe walk to explore the area. In the afternoon, you look for the camp spot. Ulrick teaches you about setting the camp for an optimal bivouac in winter: heat, wind, water, how to set the tent in the snow…. After the aperitif around the campfire, you prepare the meal all together and take advantage of the moonlight for a little night walk under the stars before coming back to your sleeping bags.
Technical info: 4h walking – 400m ascent – 100m descent
Day 2
The following day, after breakfast, we go for another snowshoe walk to reach a stunning viewing point of the Alps and discover the history of this area. After lunch, we hike back to the camp to set it off, and walk back to civilization.
Technical info: 4h walking – 200m ascent – 500m descent
