Advanced Cross-Country Skate Skiing Weekend

75 kilometers of cross-country skiing trails outside the UNESCO town La Chaux-de-Fonds, famous for its typical urban landscape of the watchmaking industry.

Join this advanced cross-country skate skiing weekend (or just one day if you prefer) led by Alex Dimitriou, cross-country skiing instructor, to discover a new area, ideal for this sport, enjoy a long tour and improve your technique and endurance.

What’s the plan?

Saturday

Meet your guide at 09:30 at La Chaux-de-Fonds train station. Shuttle to the departure of the cross-country skiing trails and start of the tour. Alex will help you improve your technique with various exercises and make you discover this beautiful area. The first day will be the most intense with the longest tour, approx. 40 kilometers. Return to La Chaux-de-Fonds in late afternoon. For those staying for the entire weekend, dinner and night in town.

Distance: approx. 40km

Sunday

After breakfast, if some are joining for Sunday only, you will meet them at the train station and drive together to the trail departure point. The second day will be a bit more relaxed than the first day and you will go for a shorter tour, approx. 25 kilometers. Alex will again give you some advice, introduce you to some exercises to make your technique better and make you discover the area.

Distance: approx. 25km

Requirements

This event is for those with previous cross-country skiing experience and willing to improve their technique. Good endurance is required to ski long distances.

Insurance

It is the participant’s responsibility to get health and accident insurances that cover mountain rescue, including extreme sports. Becoming a Rega patron is highly recommended (CHF 40 per year only for emergency medical assistance from the air).

Zurich HB 07:04 – 09:17 La Chaux-de-Fonds (via Biel/Bienne)

After the event

La Chaux-de-Fonds 17:32 – 19:30 Zurich HB (via Biel/Bienne) – depending on the time the event finishes

The price for this event is:

-CHF 160 per day if you join just for one day or two days without accommodation
-CHF 400 for the weekend
