Bio
Since childhood I have always enjoyed being outside and active; climbing trees and jumping ditches.
As a graduate in Environmental Sciences, my passion for the mountains was incorporated into my degree dissertation on footpath erosion on the Cuillins of Skye, where I lived in a mountain bothy with 2 geologists for 3 months while exploring this stunning mountain range.
Outdoor education took over my career direction in a very organic way as I moved from guided forest walks to teaching navigation and setting up top ropes on mountain crags.
I have been incredibly fortunate to have worked all over the world guiding a huge variety of people in many wild and beautiful places; sometimes on the water but now mainly on land. Some of my memorable posts include: outward bound instructing on corporate courses in sea kayaks on the South China Sea ;rain forest trekking with young people on the Tepui of Venezuela and technical leading in the Himalaya on Imja Tse with an all female British Army team.
My work now as an international mountain leader combines my 2 greatest pleasures of being in the mountains and looking after people who chose to come with me.
