2-day outdoor lead climbing course in Ticino

Join us for an outdoor lead climbing weekend before the winter kicks off! Maybe you’ve done some indoor lead climbing before and would love to apply your skills to the outdoors, maybe you need a reminder about how to set and clear your anchor, or maybe you just feel more comfortable going with a professional climbing instructor before going with your friends? We’re lucky to have Ticino nearby where we can climb without freezing until late in the season!

This trip is led by one of our Touring Monkeys climbing instructors.

What’s the plan

Meeting in front of the Arcegno, Chiesa bus stop at 10:00. We walk to the crag together, where we will refresh the fundamentals of lead climbing, learn new skills and practice all day. The crag has 14 routes, graded from 3A to 6C.

At the end of the day, we settle into a lovely local hotel where we enjoy the evening with a nice dinner. We stay there overnight.

On Sunday after breakfast, we can either go back to the same crag, or go explore another climbing area for another full day of outdoor climbing! Options are endless. At the end of the day, return to Arcegno bus stop, from where you can take a train back home.

Requirements

To join this event, you need to be able to lead climb and belay lead climbers, at least indoors.

How to get there

If you are traveling from Zurich by public transport, we recommend you to take the following:

-Zurich HB 07:33 – 10:02 Arcegno, Chiesa (via Bellinzona & Locarno)
-Arcegno, Chiesa 16:20 – 18:55 Zurich HB (via Locarno & Bellinzona) – depending on what time we finish
