4-day Alpine & Glacier Trekking from Saas-Fee to Zermatt
Join us for a 4-day alpine and glacier trekking in Valais, starting from the charming resort village of Saas-Fee and ending in Zermatt, below the iconic Matterhorn peak, crossing glaciers, ascending one of the Swiss 4000s and sleeping each night in a different mountain hut, all above 2800 meters above sea level.
This trip is led by Eliot Hennion, International Mountain Guide.
Details (Alpine & Glacier Trekking)
Day 1: Saas-Fee – Britanniahütte
We will meet our guide in Saas-Fee, Busterminal at 10:00. From there we will start the 4-day trek with a beautiful hike on the panorama trail to Britanniahütte at 3030m above sea level. The hut offers stunning views of the Hohlaubgletscher and Allalingletscher, and it is not rare to take an apero with a family of ibex!
Dinner and night at Britanniahütte.
Day 2: Britanniahütte – Adlerpass – Monte Rosa Hütte
Longest day of the trek! We will have a very early start and hike from Brittaniahütte to the famous Monte Rosa Hütte via Adlerpass. The day will be filled with amazing views of the surrounding 4000s and the Monte Rosa massif, and will be long and challenging! Well deserved dinner and night at Monte Rosa Hütte at 2883m above sea level.
Day 3: Monte Rosa Hütte – Gandegghütte
We will leave the hut in the morning to hike to the next one, the Gandegghütte, via the famous Gornergrat, facing the mythical Matterhorn. Dinner and night at Gandegghütte at 3030m above sea level.
Day 4: Gandegghütte – Breithorn – Zermatt
Depending on how we feel, everyone or some of us can take the cable car to Klein Matterhorn and ascend Breithorn (4164m) in the morning to finish this 4-day trek with one of the famous Swiss 4000m. Return to the hut for lunch before taking the cable car to Zermatt in the afternoon.
