Guided 3-day Hike – Dents Blanches Circle Trail

In collaboration with Julien Temple, International Mountain Leader, we propose you a wonderful 3-day hike around Dents Blanches.

On the footpath of the smugglers, discover this itinerary between France and Switzerland. From the mountain paths to alpine passages, the limestone massif of the Dents Blanches overlooks the valley of Haut-Giffre in Haute-Savoie, and the Val d’Illiez in Valais. From the sweetness of the flowering mountain pastures to the wild beauty of the steep rock faces, a trail into the wild for true nature lovers.

The Dents Blanches trek is very demanding, with some exposed paths, chains, and ladders. Therefore, you should be comfortable with heights in addition to being a very fit hiker.

What’s the plan? (Dents Blanches Hike)

Day 1: From Champery, hike to Susanfe via the Signal de Banaveau and the Pas d’Encel. Dinner and night at Cabane de Susanfe.

Distance: 10km
Walking duration: 5 hours
Ascent: 1300m
Descent: 100m

Day 2: After a short descent, we will start the day with the climb to the famous ladders of the Otans leading to the Pass of the same name. Probably the most impressive part of the hike but also the one offering the most beautiful panoramic view. The route then follows the Otans ridge before starting the descent to the Vogealle valley. We will leave the Vogealle refuge, to go back up to the Pas de l’Ours and then the suspended valley of the Vogealette, before reaching the Col des Chambres. From there begins the descent to Lac des Chambres and then the Refuge du Folly.

Distance: 15km
Walking duration: 8 hours
Ascent: 1500m
Descent: 1400m

Day 3: From the Refuge du Folly, we will climb up to Pas du Taureau through the Combe au Puaire and its magnificent limestone and then descend to Col de Bostan before the long descent down to Barme and Champery via the Pas de la Bide.

Distance: 16km
Walking duration: 8.5 hours
Ascent: 1000m
Descent: 1600m
